Top Arboricultural Practices launch MyTrees, Tree Management Database

Treework Environmental Practice and Tim Moya Associates provide MyTrees database and GIS free with Tree Surveys.

Treework Environmental Practice and Tim Moya Associates, leading UK arboricultural practices, are well known for their comprehensive tree assessment and management services which are available throughout the UK. In a joint venture with Safe Trees in the Czech Republic they have developed MyTrees, tree management database and GIS, to help landowners and property managers to pro-actively manage their tree populations

Treework Environmental Practice and Tim Moya Associates provide MyTrees free with Tree Surveys, as part of an extensive range of arboricultural services. Local Authorities, landowners, land managers and developers are able to use MyTrees as a flexible, cost effective solution to managing tree risk, veteran trees and trees on development sites.

Trees of good quality and value greatly enhance parks, towns, landscapes, properties and new developments and provide social and environmental benefits. Trees in areas with public access must be managed for public safety and managers of historic landscapes are familiar with their competing duties that include maintaining and enhancing both the historic structure and the habitat provided by old trees.

MyTrees, tree management database and GIS, provides clients with a database of trees on their land, integrated Geographical Information System (GIS) mapping to show the location of recorded trees on a digital map, The system includes a range of features including:

  • MyTrees Works Management supports the management of Works Orders throughout the process from selecting the works, through tendering for competitive prices, appointing a contractor, adjusting work schedules, on site checking of works, reissuing and signing off of works as well as a Database of Approved Contractors.
  • MyTrees produces high quality tailor-made reports and plans with photos and files attached to individual tree records.
  • MyTrees GIS has Analysis and Legend tools and connects to Global Positioning System (GPS) for plotting trees.
  • MyTrees Enquiries handles enquiries from the public regarding trees managed by the client.
  • MyTrees Interactive enables online client access to their tree information

MyTrees can receive imports of existing tree data and can export data in a number of formats including, MS Excel, CAD, Shape and more. MyTrees is truly versatile and most importantly is now available to customers to use in-house, free of charge with their tree survey information. Previously, landowners would need to rely on paper reports and schedules supplied by consultants. Customers already benefiting from MyTrees include: Blackheath Cator Estate, Melton Borough Council, Langley Park (Buckinghamshire County Council), The National Trust Kent County Council, East Herts District Council, Southgate College and Boston Mayflower Housing Association.

Luke Fay, Director, Treework Environmental Practice, commented:

“MyTrees database with GIS is one of our latest innovations which is easy to use and allows landowners to pro-actively manage their trees in-house for Health & Safety, budgeting, and maintenance. Offering this free of charge with tree surveys means that our customers get excellent value for money as well as the very best in tree management technology at their fingertips.”

Tim Moya, Managing Director of TMA, commented: “Trees are an essential part of the quality of the landscape. Managed properly they add value to any land area. By partnering with Treework Environmental Practice and SafeTrees we have been able to develop cutting-edge technology to lead the field of arboriculture and allow clients to cost-effectively manage their trees to safeguard them for future generations to enjoy.
