The Ancient Tree Forum Summer Field Trip

The Ancient Tree Forum are meeting in Saverton for a 2 day field trip on 10th/11th June 2010.

There will be presentations and walks on:

• The Lowland Woodpasture and Parkland biodiversity Action Plan – What do we want to achieve?
• Local Habitat Action Plans and role of Biological Record Centres.
• Acute Oak dieback – What is happening to our oak trees?
• The Ancient Tree Hunt – it is never too late to get involved.
• The Blyth/Alde project – working for biodiversity on a landscape scale.
• How does the National Trust manage their ancient trees?
• The latest stag beetle research.
• Trees in relationship to public safety
• Many other short interesting presentations on case studies from around the UK

  1. Im suprised there is as yet no comments!

    Anyone who misssed out on this event missed a great couple of days, some good talks, but more to the point an oportunity to see trees with the most Vibrant and chatty natures!

    I cant think of a more appropriate location for an event like this, and staverton and its trees will be etched on my memory for all of my days.

    If you ever wanted to observe “the body language of trees” this has to be in the top five sites, simply awsome and so glad I attended.

  2. I unfortunately missed out on this last year, what was the turnout rate and response from attendees?

    Will this be something which is repeated?
