AI Policy?
The relentless growth of AI as a business and cultural disruptor can be both inspirational and terrifying.
Businesses that put people at the centre of their culture must consider that our employees, and everyone who we work with, will be experiencing these responses and a whole spectrum of responses between.
So as part of the process of drafting our policy, we surveyed the attitudes of our entire team and received tremendous feedback:
What areas of our work could benefit from AI?
💠Analysis, content creation and design, productivity, improved efficiently, digital app / tool development, marketing analysis, operational planning, training materials, streamlining document/report production, Research and enhanced access to knowledge, systems development, admin.
What threats do you think AI poses?
💠Environmental impact, loss of human touch, displacement of jobs, loss of individuality, over-reliance on AI, inaccuracy, misinformation, poor quality outputs, brand damage, cyber risks, compromised integrity, uncorrected bias, alienation, dysfunctional relationships, changing roles.
What threats do you think we face from NOT using AI?
💠Falling behind competitors, reduced efficiency, lost sales, lagging innovation, higher costs, outdated practices, lack of expertise, missed opportunities, alienation of some staff.
What support or training would help you feel more confident using AI?
💠The appropriate application of different AI’s, AI Skills Training, understanding the pitfalls (bias, GDPR, copyright, environmental impact).
And so, equipped with these insights, we can shape our policy to support thoughtful use of this powerful technology.
