Calthorpe Estates

Contract period: September 2006 – current

Treework Environmental Practice was appointed to provide surveys of trees to support Calthorpe Estates to meet their duties of care for public safety risk in relation to trees.

Treework has carried out Tree Surveys of Calthorpe’s landholding, across Edgbaston, Birmingham and provided:

ο€­ Budgeted work specifications for tree management
ο€­ Tree and work schedules
ο€­ Tree maps of each site
ο€­ Analysis of the condition and cost of managing the tree stock

Treework continues to support Calthorpe to meet their duty of care in relation to trees by maintain up to date records in our our tree Management GIS (MyTrees), responding to queries from the Calthorpe Management Team and carrying out reinspections of selected trees on an annual basis.

Treework have provided Contract Administration services to manage the Tree Works Contracts to ensure that they are cost-effective and deliver the required quality of work. For this we provided:

ο€­ Production of tender documents
ο€­ Selection of sufficiently qualified and experienced contractors
ο€­ Review of tender bids
ο€­ Gaining TPO approvals and liaising with Local Planning Authority
ο€­ Onsite management of health and safety
ο€­ Onsite management of quality of work
ο€­ Signing off of completed works
ο€­ Checking of invoices

Treework provides information annually to support Calthorpe to budget for all tree costs.

Where required we have carried out Detailed Tree Assessments including Static Load Tests for tree stability, PICUS Tomogram internal decay assessments and Climbing Inspections.

Treework has developed a Tree Strategy for Calthorpe Estates and analysis to enable Calthorpe to forcast and understand rates of tree loss and plan to mitigate for tree loss.

Treework has provided services to support planning applications for Calthorpe developments.

Our service to Calthorpe Estates has been defined by cooperation, a desire to understand their needs as an organisation and to support them to gain value for money from contracts and be responsive to their residents.
