The Treework team had an invaluable two day team meeting at Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum and Hillier Tree Nursery.
We started the event on the first day with three informative and lively workshops about tree planting services, Ceratocystis (Canker Stain of Plane) and pioneering best practice guidance that Neville Fay is working on for Scottish National Heritage on coring ancient and veteran trees, quickly followed by a trip around The Sir Harold Hillier Arboretum. Our visit coincided with a mini-heatwave so we found refuge in the lush Himalayan valley and bog garden, but were soon lured away from our shaded sanctuary by the magnificent tree specimens which really caught our attention.
On day two we were welcomed to Hillier Tree Nursery where we were guided through the processes of growing trees from propagation through to juvenile and semi mature specimens, ready for planting in landscape schemes around the UK.
The tour was exceptionally informative for all of our Team, whether consultant or CAD technician, who provide expert tree planting advice and Tree Planting Plans as well as audits of the success of the trees that are planted.
