Additionally, he possesses a LANTRA professional tree inspection certificate and is a registered user of VALID tree assessment, demonstrating his expertise in assessing tree health and potential hazards.

His career journey has been diverse with 15 years of experience as a tree climber and surveyor for arboricultural association approved contractors, James has a deep understanding of the practical aspects of arboriculture. He then spent three years as a local authority tree officer, managing council-owned trees and providing expert advice on tree preservation orders and development proposals.

As an arboricultural consultant in the private sector for over six years, James has established himself as a trusted professional. He is a professional member of the arboricultural association and an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters (ICF), reflecting his dedication to maintaining high standards in his work.

James’s expertise covers a wide range of areas, including tree population management, development proposals, veteran and historical landscapes, woodland management, and large-scale tree planting schemes. This broad skill set makes him a sought-after consultant for various clients.

Beyond his professional endeavours, James remains actively engaged in the arboricultural community. He is a verifier on the Ancient Tree Inventory and regularly participates in local Ancient Tree Forum events. His passion for trees extends to bonsai, where he is an enthusiastic practitioner.
