Launch of City & Guilds Employer Industry Board for Forestry & Arboriculture

City & Guilds are driving forward T Level qualifications in Arboriculture and Forestry.

Our Director Luke Fay has been invited to join the Employer Industry Board with Jackie Hough – Industry Manager of City & Guilds, Becky Wilkinson, Learning and Outreach Manager at Royal Forestry Society, John Parker, CEO of the Arboricultural Association and Russell Horsey, Community Engagement Specialist at Urban Forestry.

T Levels are a two year qualification for 16-19 year olds designed in collaboration with employers. Each T Level is equivalent to 3 A Levels,

The Board is overseeing T Levels for people who are interested in developing the specific technical and professional skills and knowledge that will lead to meaningful employment in the Forestry and Arboriculture industry.

Luke Fay said: “These are the future arboriculturists, and T Levels provide people with an early route of entry into this brilliantly fulfilling profession. I am grateful to Jackie Howe and City & Guilds for inviting me to the Board and I am looking forward to our work supporting the T Levels and their uptake among budding tree specialists”

T Level training and qualifications are delivered at several colleges across the UK, however awareness of courses in Forestry and Arboriculture is patchy so…
