Luke Fay, Managing Director and Senior Arboricultural Consultant, is giving a talk today at Phyllis Court, Henley on Thames, Oxon RG9 2HT about Tree Routes and Soil Systems – what is going on beneath our feet, as part of the SoilsCon 2016 presentation.
Luke will look at how trees connect with the soil to extract the required water and nutrients for healthy growth as well as using the soil as an anchor. He will be looking at the consequences when this system goes wrong or is disrupted. In examining this he will explore tree root growth patterns and architecture and the essential relationships between tree roots and soil structure. He will also take a look at the impact of damage caused from issues such as soil compaction on these systems and how they can be detected above ground.
