Tree root and soil systems – what is going on beneath our feet?

luke-fay-profile-photoLuke Fay, Managing Director and Senior Arboricultural Consultant, has been invited to give a talk at the SoilsCon 2016 – Soil Use and Management Seminar, hosted by Tim O’Hare Associates, on Wednesday 5th October 2016 at Phyllis Court, Marlow Road, Henley on Thames.

Luke will discuss the relationship between tree roots and the surrounding soil systems. The talk will also look at the complex problems that can arise when the balance of this symbiotic relationship is disrupted by events such as soil compaction.

Luke Fay said “Tim O’Hare’s soil conferences provide insights for the construction sector into the role of good soil management in delivering successful and sustainable landscapes. I am delighted to be joining this panel of experts and I hope to deliver further insights into the complex interaction between tree roots and the soils from which they draw nutrients and stability. This is a subject that is not well understood and gaining a better understanding of it can mean the difference between a ‘sick’ landscape and one that is vibrant, sustained and successful.”

Treework Environmental Practice and Tim O’Hare Associates have collaborated on several projects to deliver successful tree planting schemes and to provide healthy soils to support trees that have been retained on construction sites.
