We’ve been quietly building something and today, we’re excited to announce the introduction of the Treework Engine – a new tool developed exclusively by Treework Environmental Practice that is redefining how we value and visualise urban tree data.
Built on more than 40 years of arboricultural expertise, the Treework Engine is an application that takes the data we already collect and turns it into something far more powerful.
What it does:
→ Calculates CAVAT, CO₂ sequestration and ecosystem service values
→ Generates 3D crown models and root protection areas
→ Projects canopy growth over time using species-specific data
→ Works for a single tree or entire tree populations
→ Produces exportable PDF reports and XLSX registers
How we’re using it:
From March 2026 we are integrating it into our workflow. This means that each client we work with can benefit from this technology – giving them transparent, spatially informed, evidence-based outputs that supports better decision making.
Why it matters now:
The Treework Engine is already future-proofed for the forthcoming BS5837 update expected later this year – including canopy cover modelling, which is set to become a standard requirement.
This is what 40 years of arboricultural knowledge looks like when it meets modern technology.
