VETCert VETERAN AND ANCIENT TREE EXPERTS

Congratulations to our consultants James Covenant and James Butler-White who have become #VETCert Graduates.

The #VETCert is THE accreditation for #AncientTree and #VeteranTree recognition and management and is administered in the UK by the AA and ATF.

As part of the UK’s largest in-house commercial team of veteran and ancient tree experts here at Treework, James and James have been assessing nationally significant populations of ancient and veteran trees.

Their work involves both identifying #IrreplaceableHabitat in the context of #Design #Planning and #Construction and providing long-term management plans for trees in #HistoricLandscapes to support their continued viability for centuries to come.

James and James’ learning has been supported by our structured training and mentoring and our team’s deep knowledge in this area, including involvement with the Ancient Tree Forum (ATF) since its inception, with team members currently on the ATF’s Advisory Pannell, VetCERT accredited consultants, and Neville Fay’s production of the Specialist Survey Method, as well as long study across the team of Tree Morphophysiology, and decades of experience of both assessing and monitoring Ancient Trees and Veteran Trees.

James Butler-White said: “After several years of wanting to achieve my VetCert Consultant Specialist accreditation today I finally passed and became a certified veteran tree specialist. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me and shared their knowledge to help me to achieve my goal.”
