Welcome to the Treework Library!

Welcome To The Treework Library

It doesn’t matter how experienced or knowledgeable we are, sometimes we all find ourselves in situations we haven’t encountered before. Sometimes we will need to work within unfamiliar subjects, sometimes the guidance or legislation that we have referenced for years is changed or technical innovations or new case-law means that we no longer have confidence in our standard responses to familiar scenarios. At such times, access to reference material that has been produced by trusted experts in the subject is invaluable.

And so we are opening the doors of the Treework Library, an online reference resource stacked from digital floor to ceiling with downloadable documents on tree matters ranging from “Conservation Arboriculture”, through “Effective Tree Risk Management” to “Review of National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)”.

Over the past 20 years we have built a library of material, including papers delivered by Neville Fay and other expert consultants from our team at conferences around the globe, proceedings from our Innovations in Arboriculture seminar series, Case Studies and Reports as well as review, comment and guidance on new legislation and case law as it emerges. And we are dedicated to a program of continually high-quality information to The Library.

As well as material from our own nationally and internationally recognised experts, our seminar proceedings include papers from the world’s leading authorities on subjects from Tree Morphology to the science of Risk Management.

Recently added are a paper on the Considerations for Developers when TPOs are Present.  We are also working on adding papers from our Seminars including 20 Tree-Lined Routes & The Linear Forest and 06 Tree Risk

The Library is a resource for all who are involved with trees. Whether you own or manage a tree population, design and construct buildings and landscapes, are a custodian of historic trees or have a passion for all things arboricultural, you will find useful information and fascinating papers. We even have a section on soil as this is a subject in which we also have expertise.

Material is grouped and The Library has been structured so that navigation is easy and you will be able to find the location of the information that you are looking for.

Subjects covered include:

  • Ancient and Veteran Trees Management
  • Case Studies and Reports
  • Conservation Arboriculture
  • Innovation in Arboriculture
  • Planning and Development
  • Policy
  • Soil
  • Strategy
  • Technical Guidance
  • Tree Risk Management

There is also a section with links to external documents such as British Standards and Government Policy.

Access is free and just requires a few details to set up, click here to get started.

We’re adding to The Library regularly to make sure that as it grows it continues to be completely relevant, reflecting the current thinking on arboriculture at any given point in time. Once you are signed up, we will welcome any suggestions for new subjects.
