West Oxfordshire District Council (WODC) contracted Treework Environmental Practice through a competitive tender to carry out a Tree Risk Survey in 2006.
Set up of the survey required Treework CAD/GIS team to digitise the paper records that WODC had for their sites throughout the District. This benefitted the council by providing an up to date, digital map on which they could record all assets as well as trees.
Quality Management was carried out throughout the survey and the client was kept informed of progress.
The survey data was formatted and provided in a format suitable for import to WODC’s corporate GIS (CADcorp). Treework’s GIS Technicians worked with WODC’s GIS team to ensure that the data would import fully and be of use to the WODC managers.
Where required we have carried out Detailed Tree Assessments including Static Load Tests for tree stability, PICUS Tomogram internal decay assessments and Climbing Inspections.
Treework continues to support WODC to meet their duties of care for public safety in relation to trees by carrying out reinspections of selected trees on an annual basis.
Treework wrote WODC’s Tree Related Subsidence Claims Handling Policy and provide services to WODC to evaluate subsidence claims where trees are implicated.
